History and Mission

When brothers Sal and Jim Murgo founded the business in 1968 under the name Connecticut Forklift, they dreamed about the success the business would have and how it would provide jobs and opportunities for generations of their family and plenty of other people, too. And that dream has come true in so many ways. Tri-Lift is a working third-generation business and our employee turnover is little to none. Which means that thanks to our loyal customers through the years, we’ve been able to supply steady employment to many people in a three-state area.

With the basic ideals of honesty, value, hard work, ethics and building relationships, Tri-Lift has grown from the brothers’ dreams in a leased 4,000-sf area in 1968 to carrying those same standards and ideals in multiple locations, with multiple world-class vendors serving our steadfast customers past, current, present and future. It means the world to us to look back over the years and feel the satisfaction of knowing that we’ve been able to establish and maintain tight relationships with customers, employees and vendors based on mutual respect and success.

Although, over the years, Tri-Lift has grown in spectacular ways, we’ve never lost sight of the importance of providing customized, personal interaction and service to every one of our customers. Our strength is in our size, which means we can fulfill any and all material handling needs, while at the same time providing you with unprecedented, personal customer service. Our years of experience (50!!), combined with our traditional values, add up to commitment to finding and providing our customers progressive solutions for their challenges.

At Tri-Lift, we believe in the personal touch, that’s why you’ll never find yourself talking to a machine or punching numbers to get through options. A real person will answer the phone every time you call any of our locations. Our employees believe in our company, like we believe in them, so we are proud to say we have little to no turnover. People who work at Tri-Lift manifest the company’s goals and advance through the organization. We invest profits into the company and maintain high levels of efficiency, so we can offer our customers the best in savings. We believe in sustainability and constantly strive to learn greener ways of operating.

These are just a few of the things are current customers have come to expect from Tri-Lift. We’d love for you to join the Tri-Lift family and help us celebrate another 50 years of success!
